Lucky Pot, located at 5005 Steeles Ave E in Scarborough, ON, offers an appealing foray into traditional Chinese cuisine with a menu that focuses on variety, flavor, and value. Patrons rave about the crispy chicken, hailed as a must-try dish, alongside the nourishing chicken soup that many find to be both healthy and delicious. The restaurant frequently experiences busy lines, especially during peak hours, yet the food is consistently noted as worth the wait. Dishes like the hand-shredded chicken and crispy pork intestine showcase authentic flavors, with the latter earning high praise for its traditional preparation. Additionally, the sizzling pot eggplant and glutinous rice with preserved sausage provide a delightful mix of textures and flavors. For families or larger groups, the set menus offer impressive value, accommodating up to five people without breaking the bank. Notably, the lobster set meal is a standout, providing an abundance of seafood that satisfies multiple appetites, complemented by complimentary soup and dessert. While parking can be a challenge, many diners recommend arriving early to avoid crowds. Overall, Lucky Pot delivers a memorable dining experience with excellent food, and its affordability makes it a rare gem in today’s dining landscape. A true delight for any lover of Chinese cuisine.

Food was great! But every time we come here, there is a line up. Last time we decided not to wait, this rainy weekday evening, we waited about 15 mins for a table. The staff and service was ok. Not the best, they have that always busy attitude. But they have lots of staff working. The hand shredded chicken was really yummy! Has that chicken jello effect! Super yummy. The crispy pork intestine was really crispy and traditional. The sizzling pot eggplant was flavourful and sizzling hot. The glutinous rice with preserved sausage was also well made! Props to the kitchen ! Also came with free appetizer soup and free desert. Bill was 77 before tip with enough portion left over for 2 lunch boxes. Great value, the food was awesome! Would recommend! And will re-visit on weekdays only.

Taste is good with decent price for the set menus - we picked the 138 one and should be good for 4-5 people. Bring cash! Parking is limited but can park across the street.

Really enjoyed this place! It was not too crowded (for a Chinese restaurant), service was fast, and the staff were nice. We did come earlier though, and later on there was a lineup at the door. The food was great, and we got the lobster set meal plus the little hot pot dish in the pictures. The lobster set meal was 88 and included the four dishes plus a small soup at the beginning (not pictured) and a sweet soup/porridge at the end. The set meal alone is a good amount of food for 3-4 people! Good value seafood and definitely worth coming!

Great value deals for food. The food is great at reasonable prices for family dinner. Nowadays, it is very hard to find a restaurant like this one, especially with the increased cost of living. The only downside is that there is limited parking spaces outside the restaurant, but there are more parking spaces across the street next to the church. Please kindly note that the certain menus posted here (taken on 1/4/2025) are subject to changes based on the restaurant, especially after Lunar Chinese New Year.

Typical Chinese cuisine restaurant in this area. Everything is good and the meal comes with a complimentary dessert. The price is reasonable.

A very enjoyable first visit. Came with friends who are regulars and we enjoyed a high quality Cantonese Hong Kong style cuisine dinner. I thought they were being a little extreme to show up at 4:50 p.m. but even at that time there were only two tables left and by 5:20 p.m., the lineup began. There's no doubt because their food is absolutely delicious. Of particular note, the 曾培淦 absolutely blew my mind! The skin was so incredibly thin and crispy like Peking duck. It was literally the best I have ever experienced. All of the other dishes including the stir fried sea bass with celery and the pork neck meat stir fry were all incredibly well done. Highly recommended and will be back in the near future! My recommendation, show up early if you don't like to wait!
